Join our team as an ASL Interpreter in Mississauga. Support academic success for deaf and hard-of-hearing students through your expert interpreting skills.
We are looking for qualified ASL Interpreters to work in in-person university and college classes. This role entails providing interpreting and transliteration services while adhering to professional standards and institutional policies. You'll need to record service hours and continue enhancing your ASL knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver interpreting services in classrooms and events
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to standards
• Keep accurate records of all interpreting services
• Attend necessary trainings and meetings
• Stay updated with ASL interpreting advancements
Requirements:
• Member of the Canadian Association of Sign Language Interpreters
• Minimum 2 years of post-secondary education
• Experience with ASL in an academic context
• Awareness of the needs of individuals with disabilities
• Timeliness and dependability in all assignments
Utilize your interpreting skills to create equitable education access and support student achievement.
