Our client, a large public-sector organization, is seeking a Bilingual Translation Services Coordinator
- English/French to join their team on an 11-month contract. This opportunity is ideal for a bilingual communications, translation, or French Language Services professional who has experience coordinating translation projects, working with external translation providers, reviewing French-language content, and supporting French-language policies and compliance requirements within a public-sector, healthcare, academic, scientific, or similarly structured environment.
- Coordinate translation requests for organizational publications, products, digital content, and other materials.
- Manage translation workflows, tracking systems, timelines, and deliverables while working closely with internal stakeholders and external translation service providers.
- Review and proveread French-language materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, quality, appropriate terminology, and alignment with organizational standards.
- Liaise with external translation agencies regarding translation requests, revisions, quality concerns, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Review translation-related invoices to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support the implementation and ongoing administration of French Language Services policies, strategies, processes, tools, and resources.
- Maintain and support French-English terminology, lexicon, and language resources.
- Support the development and ongoing management of French-language website and digital content.
- Provide guidance and support to internal departments regarding French-language communications and French Language Services requirements.
- Assist with the interpretation and application of French Language Services policies and applicable legislation.
- Support the development of administrative processes, evaluation tools, performance measures, and monitoring systems related to French Language Services activities and compliance.
- Assist with the development and delivery of training and resources for employees regarding French-language policies and processes.
- Support initiatives and special projects that impact Ontario's Francophone community.
- Act as a key point of contact for French Language Services matters and assist with the investigation and resolution of related inquiries or complaints.
- Partner with internal departments, including Human Resources, to support French-language recruitment and related compliance requirements.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
- Undergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Translation, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of related experience, preferably within government, healthcare, education, crown agency, regulatory, or other broader public-sector environments.
- Fluently bilingual in English and French, with superior oral and written French-language skills.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing, editing, and proving read professional French-language content.
- Strong experience coordinating translation projects and working directly with external translation agencies or service providers.
- Excellent project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple requests, deadlines, vendors, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Strong written communication, editorial, and quality-assurance skills.
- Experience working with technical, scientific, healthcare, academic, or other specialized content is strongly preferred.
- Experience with French Language Services policies, legislation, compliance requirements, or related public-sector frameworks is considered an asset.
- Previous experience as a translator, editor, or linguistics professional is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related document, tracking, and collaboration tools.
