The Role:

Coordinates and provides advice on translation and the integration of French language services into PHO activities and into delivery of products and services to meet the requirements of the French Language Services Act (FLSA).

Coordonner, fournir des conseils en matière de traduction et d’intégration des services en français aux activités de Santé publique Ontario (SPO) et pour la livraison de produits et de services conformément aux exigences de la Loi sur les services en français (LSF).

Key Responsibilities-

• Under the direction of the Team Lead, Production Development and Publishing, supports the implementation and execution of PHO’s French Language Services (FLS) policy and strategy as well as supporting tools, training and resources including PHO managing translation requests, French-English lexicon, defining internal processes.
• Manages the translation request process including the translation tracker and coordinates translation of PHO products and digital content with external service provides, ensuring compliance with Ontario Ministry of Government Services (MSG) procurement directives and guidelines; ensures all invoicing is accurate and complete.
• Reviews and proofreads translated materials for quality assurance and liaises with vendors as required to enforce quality control.
• Supports the development and ongoing content management of PHO’s French language website and related digital content.
• Provides expertise and support to internal program areas on FLS compliance and advises where PHO programs and policies may have an impact on the Francophone community.
• Provides strategic advice, responses, issues management support, legislation interpretation and application on issues, trends, or complaints related to the provision of FLS.
• Develops administrative processes, evaluation tools, performance measures and monitoring systems to monitor, track, evaluate and report PHO FLS requirements and activities and effectiveness of FLS implementation and compliance plans.
• Supports manager in development and implementation of PHO operational policies, processes, best practices, tools and resources to promote compliance with FLS.
• Develops, recommends and supports initiatives and special projects with direct impact on the Francophone community.
• Acts as main point of contact for French Language Services clients
• Liaises with the provincial Office of Francophone Affairs to investigate, respond to and resolve complaints regarding the provision of FLS.
• Provides training for PHO staff on all existing and any new French language polices and processes
• Supports Human Resources with French recruitment and to ensure recruitment policies and processes are compliant with FLSA.

Principales responsabilités-

• Sous la direction du Responsable d’équipe, Développement de la Production et Publication, soutenir la mise en œuvre et l’application de la politique et de la stratégie sur les services en français de SPO ainsi que les outils, la formation et les res sources connexes, notamment la gestion des demandes de traduction et du lexique français-anglais et l’établissement des processus internes.
• Assurer la gestion du processus de demande de traduction, y compris du dispositif de suivi, et la coordination de la traduction des produits de SPO et du contenu numérique exécutée par des services externes, conformément aux directives et aux lignes directrices en matière d’approvisionnement du MSG; veiller à ce que toutes les factures soient exactes et complètes.
