Tactical Buyer

Position: Tactical Buyer at Hitachi Rail
Elevate your career as a Tactical Buyer with Hitachi Rail in Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid). This role focuses on purchasing activities, supporting supply chain operations, and utilizing ERP systems effectively.

The Tactical Buyer will manage a specific group of commodities, ensuring timely execution of purchasing activities. You will liaise with suppliers, handle purchase orders, and run analytical reports to improve supply chain efficiency. Additionally, assisting in the training of junior Buyers will be part of your responsibilities, as will ensuring compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage assigned commodities and execute purchasing activities

• Coordinate purchase orders and supplier communications

• Analyze past due purchase orders for timely closure

• Review requisitions for completeness and compliance

• Place orders and document procurement decisions

Requirements:

• 3 to 5 years of supply chain experience

• Post-secondary education in business or materials management

• Strong communication skills in English

• Experience with SAP is preferred

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
