Traffic Coordinator – Toronto, Ontario (In‑office, 5x a week, 279 Rexdale Blvd.)
Pay Range$22.92 – $32.09 per hour
Job OverviewSupports the wholesale division of a large resale retail company, performing day‑to‑day shipping, inventory and customs duties for Canada, the United States and Australia.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with order entry, sales and warehouse operations on shipping schedules and inventory levels.
- Receive and review sales orders and allocations, and initiate orders for final distribution.
- Schedule export license inspections, fumigation and other government inspections.
- Ensure shipments meet requirements by confirming counts, weights and submitting export/domestic bill of lading instructions (SOLAS).
- Prepare customer shipment document packets and support customs compliance (ACE/CERS).
- Monitor and communicate shipment details, providing necessary documentation for tracking orders.
- Collaborate with the Order Entry Department to resolve invoice issues.
- Manage all truckload cross‑border inventory transfers and related customs documents.
- Use internal International Transportation System (QAD Precision) and Microsoft Office applications.
- Update SharePoint/Teams with final sales order numbers and projected shipping dates.
- Support sales final order allocations, revisions and extra orders.
- Liaise between warehouse operations, sales and customers.
- Support Accounting and Sales Team regarding A/R holds.
- Work with shippers for final inventory review and order release.
- Process and input sales orders in D365 and support final invoice posting in D365.
- Provide preliminary packing slips to the Traffic Team for distribution within USA, Canada and Australia.
- Maintain international transportation records for customs and accounting validation.
- Update weekly sales calendar and provide backup to support ocean import program for seasonal retail program.
- Coordinate cross‑departmentally for final period‑end closing and update/distribute period‑end revenue report.
- Support sale of Credential, order fulfillment/invoicing and weekly reporting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2–3 years experience in domestic and international OTR and intermodal rail transportation.
- 2–3 years experience in ocean export and transportation.
- Knowledgeable about INCO terms (International Commercial Terms).
- Strong skillset in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Organizational skills, strong attention to detail and customer‑service orientation.
- Ability to interpret international shipping tariffs and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and multi‑task with minimal supervision.
- Ability to interact with all levels of the organization and work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to establish relationships with peers, internal and external customers and vendors.
- Working knowledge of accounting processes and procedures.
- Familiarity with SharePoint, D365 and QAD Precision.
