Senior Buyer of Direct Materials

Elevate your procurement career at Johnson Controls as a Senior Buyer focused on Direct Materials in our hybrid remote Toronto office. This role involves managing supplier relationships and ensuring material availability and cost efficiency.
As a Senior Buyer for the Security – Intrusion business, you will oversee strategic procurement activities. Your responsibilities include ensuring supply continuity, managing contract manufacturers, and supporting the execution of business objectives. Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize inventory and drive supplier performance for key projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage relationships with contract manufacturing partners

• Lead operational reviews to monitor supplier performance

• Resolve supply and operational issues affecting production

• Identify and mitigate risks in supply continuity

• Negotiate supplier terms and support new product introductions
Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or related field

• 5+ years of procurement or sourcing experience

• Expertise in managing contract manufacturers

• Strong negotiation and analytical skills

• Experience with ERP/MRP systems, especially SAP
