Position Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic Industrial Cleanerto join our team! This position will be responsible for keeping the building in a clean and orderly condition, and will perform heavy cleaning duties by operating a scissor lift and manual/powered handling equipment to wash walls and floors. Duties may include performing routine maintenance activities and notifying management of the need for repairs.

Key Responsibilities

Follow assigned cleaning schedule to clean the facility

Clean facility using equipment such as a scissor lift to clean walls and rafters.

Use manual or powered equipment to dust, sweep, vacuum, scrub, disinfect

Clean facility equipment

Wear required PPE, respirator, safety glasses, gloves and shoes

Identify and communicate potential needs for repairs, safety or maintenance issues to supervisors

Support maintenance department as required

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent work experience

Ability to be certified in Scissor Lift and Fall Arrest

Ability to be certified in Working at Heights

Forklift license and WHMIS training would be an asset

Ability to multi-task and establish priorities

Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Must be physically fit and able to operate heavy equipment

Job Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies

Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets would be an advantage
