Caretaker & Groundskeeper at Our Lady of Sorrows

Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Etobicoke is hiring a Caretaker & Groundskeeper to maintain a clean and safe environment for worship and events. This modified full-time position involves custodial duties and property maintenance.

Candidates are expected to work part-time on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with potential for more hours. You will perform janitorial tasks, conduct safety inspections, and support special community events. Previous maintenance experience is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and ensure safety inside and outside church

• Carry out minor repairs and upkeep

• Handle cleaning tasks and maintain hygiene supplies

• Assist in event preparation and set up

• Dispose of waste and manage recycling efforts

Requirements:

• Proven experience in maintenance and custodial services

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Capable of lifting heavy items and physical tasks

• Respect for Catholic Church values and traditions

• Criminal background check necessary
