Housekeeping​/Laundry Aide; Part-Time

Overview

Under the direction of the Facility Manager, the Housekeeping and Laundry Attendant is responsible for performing housekeeping and laundry tasks efficiently, ensuring the comfort and needs of residents are met.

• Perform housekeeping and laundry tasks according to the established schedule, with consideration for residents.
• Conduct routine deep cleaning and disinfect the building.
• Label residents' personal clothing items clearly and accurately.
• Maintain accurate inventory records of linen and laundry supplies.
• Ensure safe operation of dryers and regular lint removal.
• Keep exits and corridors clear of blockages; participate in fire and disaster drills.
• Replenish supplies as needed.
• Comply with health and safety policies and sanitation and infection control procedures.
• Keep up-to-date with developments and best practices in the field.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Able to perform heavy lifting tasks and visual acuity for inspecting linens.
• Experience in institutional housekeeping or laundry is an asset.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Comfortable using computer/phone applications.
• Valid Vulnerable Sector Police/vulnerable sector screen.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Chinese communication an asset.
• Must provide a satisfactory police reference check and medical clearance certificate.

Considerable lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, and bending. Exposure to chemicals, body waste, garbage. Shift work.

$20.27 - $22.52 per hour.
