Grounds Operator

Position: Grounds Operator at York University
Contribute to campus maintenance as a Grounds Operator at York University. Operate a variety of vehicles and equipment to support the upkeep of university grounds and facilities.

York University is seeking an experienced Grounds Operator with at least three years of vocational truck operation. You will manage the maintenance of roads, athletic fields, and parking lots, while ensuring a safe and clean environment.

Your role will involve operating various machinery and supporting the Grounds team in fulfilling its mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate vocational trucks over 11,000 kg for maintenance

• Utilize various equipment like skid-steers and backhoes

• Support athletic field maintenance and upkeep

• Conduct routine inspections and minor repairs

• Collaborate with team members for effective service delivery

Requirements:

• High School Diploma required

• Valid Class D driver's license with Z air brake endorsement

• Minimum three years of relevant experience

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
