A janitor is generally responsible for the cleaning of all hard floor surfaces and carpets, washrooms, common areas, offices, and the collection and removal of garbage from drop points to a garbage bin. In addition to carrying out the cleaner duties, GDI is looking for someone who can also perform Lead Hand duties.

Full Time, Sunday to Saturday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors, stairs and other surfaces (inside buildings).
• Wash windowsills; glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, interior/exterior; wash/spot clean interior walls as appropriate daily.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily. Standard bathroom procedures include damp wiping glass surfaces, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, and sweeping/mopping/scrubbing floors.
• Assist the supervisor with any other assistance that requires help from the employee.
• Monitor possible defects such as clogged urinals or lights out, and report to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, placing it in approved containers and delivering it to the designated collection area for subsequent removal.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers per specifications.
• Perform high dusting and wall washing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Must be able to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Must have own transportation.
• Requires attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
• Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check.
