Location:
Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Salary range: CA $95,000 – CA $115,000.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship and Aon cannot sponsor a visa or work permit.
Aon is seeking a Head of Property Underwriting to lead underwriting excellence, portfolio strategy, and a high-performing team within the Linx Underwriting division.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement the property underwriting strategy, ensuring alignment with company goals and market dynamics.
Oversee performance of property portfolios across general liability, professional liability, environmental liability, and other specialty lines.
Establish and maintain underwriting guidelines, pricing models, and risk appetite frameworks to ensure consistent and profitable underwriting.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing property underwriting team.
Represent the company in broker and client engagements, industry forums, and regulatory discussions; build strong market relationships.
Monitor emerging risks such as cyber liability, climate-related exposures, and social inflation; drive innovation in product development and risk solutions.
Ensure adherence to internal controls, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.

Skills and Experience
Minimum 10 years of property underwriting experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Deep knowledge of property lines, market trends, and regulatory environments.
Proven track record of portfolio management and profitable growth.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Strategic problem‑solving with analytical rigor and commercial foresight.
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or professional designation (e.g., CIP, FCIP, CPCU) preferred.
