Sanofi’s global vaccines business unit partners with public health, medical and scientific communities to improve access to life‑protecting vaccines. The Director of B200 Operations will lead the operations team for a key strategic capital project, overseeing design, construction, commissioning, validation, licensure, and startup of a new influenza drug‑substance manufacturing facility.
Implement highly automated processes and fully integrated digital industrialized manufacturing systems, including automation, control systems, data historians, LIMS, ERP (SAP), and MES.
Main Responsibilities- Lead operations team through all stages: URS, DQ, IQ/OQ/PQ, engineering runs.
- Ensure project objectives and deliverables are met on time and within budget.
- Support development of workforce planning and organizational structure from design to start‑up.
- Provide strategy and guidance for manufacturing training and startup.
- Engage team in validation activities related to equipment and facilities.
- Monitor and communicate performance to Project Leader and core team.
- Develop operating budget and staffing for operations and project activities.
- Incorporate new technology to reduce costs and enhance quality.
- Work with Quality to ensure GMP compliance and maintain operating procedures.
- Lead staff attraction, motivation, development and high‑performing team culture.
- Implement lean management systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure safe workplace, compliance with employment and health & safety legislation.
- Investigate incidents and maintain documentation.
- Cooperate with HSE management and Joint Health & Safety Committee.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech engineering or operations.
- Management experience required.
- Strong communication skills and thorough knowledge of cGMP and regulatory requirements.
- Project leadership experience including planning, resource management, execution, and closure.
May be required within Canada or globally.
