The office of Evan Solomon, Member of Parliament for Toronto Centre is currently looking to staff the position of Constituency Director.
Reporting to the Member of Parliament, the Constituency Director is responsible for the overall leadership, management and day-to-day operations of the Toronto Centre Constituency Office.
The Constituency Director leads the constituency team and ensures the effective delivery of constituent services, casework, stakeholder relations, community outreach and office administration. You will establish priorities, manage staff and resources, oversee office systems and processes, and ensure the Member is well supported in responding to the needs and priorities of residents and organizations throughout Toronto Centre.
In addition, in this role, you will serve as the Member’s senior advisor on constituency matters, identify emerging local issues, coordinate appropriate responses and ensuring effective communication and follow-up between the Member, constituency staff, parliamentary staff, government offices and community stakeholders.
This senior leadership position requires excellent judgment, strong people-management and organizational skills, discretion, adaptability and a commitment to outstanding public service.
Key Responsibilities
- Office Leadership and Management
:
Provides overall leadership and operational management of the Toronto Centre Constituency Office by overseeing office administration, constituent services, stakeholder relations, and projects, while fostering a collaborative, high-performing workplace and ensuring effective, timely service delivery to constituents. - Human Resources, Administration and Financial Oversight
:
Leads and supports a high-performing constituency office team by fostering employee development, promoting a positive workplace culture, and overseeing financial and administrative resources to ensure the effective delivery of services to constituents. - Constituent Services and Casework Oversight: Provides leadership and oversight of constituent services by ensuring the delivery of responsive, high-quality support, guiding the team, and promoting a consistent, client-focused experience for constituents.
- Stakeholder Relations and Community Engagement
:
Leads community engagement and stakeholder relations by fostering strong partnerships, identifying opportunities for outreach and collaboration, and helping ensure the Member remains connected to the priorities and needs of Toronto Centre residents and organizations. - Member Support and Strategic Advice: Provides strategic advice and support to the Member by monitoring constituency priorities and emerging issues, coordinating briefing materials and stakeholder information, staffing the Member at local public events, and preparing speeches, remarks and other materials for those events. Works with constituency, parliamentary and government staff to advance the needs and interests of Toronto Centre residents and organizations.
- Communications and Branding: Oversees the Member’s constituency communications and branding, including mailers and materials promoting local events, to ensure clear, consistent and timely communication with residents and community partners.
Education:
- Post-secondary education from a recognized institution, or an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant professional experience.
Experiences:
- Significant experience in team leadership, office management, public service, government, politics, community engagement or a related field.
