YOUR OPPORTUNITY
Under the general direction of the Director, the Manager, Finance and Administration is responsible for the management of complex financial and administration functions required to meet the goals and objectives of the Business Development Department. In this role, the Manager, Finance and Administration assists and advises the Director on financial strategies for the department, develops, manages and monitors operating, ancillary, and self-funded budgets and provides operational management and human resources management within the department.
The Manager, Finance is an active participant in the department’s strategic planning process.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities include:
preparing budgets for units in the department; forecasting revenues and expenditures; conducting financial analyses and making recommendations to address budget implications; developing and implementing business process improvements; reviewing financial controls to ensure financial integrity; budget modeling; and assuming overall responsibility for human resources related to the department’s administrative staff.
The Manager, Finance and Administration manages the department’s financial administration staff, including hiring, supervision and performance management. The Manager, Finance and Administration provides oversight to the department’s financial, administrative and central service functions. The Manager, Finance and Administration oversees the Department’s budgets (operating, ancillary and self-funded), financial processes and financial forecasting.
The Manager, Finance and Administration works collaboratively with the department’s management team. The Manager, Finance and Administration leads operational projects, financial performance reviews and the purchasing and administration of the department’s computer equipment and other assets.
