Position OverviewThe Bookings Department is responsible for intake, booking and administration of all rental events and the accurate management of the organization’s venue calendars. As part of the Programming Group, which also encompasses Programming, Education & Community Engagement, as well as Artist Development & Original Content, the Bookings Department facilitates internal bookings across programmatic areas and operational needs, communicating all activity to the larger organization.
Bookings are the first touch point for new and returning clients, providing information and guidance from initial inquiry through event confirmation and collaborate interdepartmentally to ensure a seamless transition to event delivery.
Reporting to the Director of Bookings, the Bookings Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the Bookings Department and provides leadership, guidance, coaching, and mentorship for two Bookings & Sales Associates. The Manager will oversee the departmental sales pipeline, internal bookings, and inventory allocation, while actively engaging with select clients, ensuring that inquiries, contracts, scheduling, client communications, event estimates, and internal processes for all rental activities across the organization’s venues are managed efficiently, accurately, and in alignment with departmental objectives.
Utilizing their advanced creative problem solving and critical thinking skills while role modelling best-in-class customer service, the Manager will maximize event activity and revenue generation. Working closely with the Director, they support the execution of departmental strategies, service standards, and revenue goals.
Success in this role is reflected through efficient and accurate booking administration, professional client service, effective cross-functional collaboration, and the successful delivery of rental activity in support of the financial and strategic goals of the department and organization.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on people leader who enjoys bringing structure to complex, fast-moving work, building strong client relationships, and coordinating across teams.
