Position: Operations Coordinator (Manufacturing)

Job overview:

The Operations Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the smooth running of production activities. He/she supports the manufacturing teams by coordinating operations, optimizing processes, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. He/she acts as a point of contact between production, logistics, maintenance, and management to maximize the overall efficiency and performance of the plant.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate daily plant operations and optimize productivity with field teams.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage raw material inventory with the logistics team (adjustments, research, etc.).
  • Support SAP operations (PO creation) and cover for the team during vacations.
  • Actively participate in the OHS committee, audits, accident investigations, and OHS training.
  • Coordinate OHS training and procedures for production employees.
  • Promote communication between production, maintenance, logistics, and administration.
  • Support the integration of new employees and follow up on action plans.
  • Serve as backup production supervisor during scheduled absences to maintain smooth operations.
What we are looking for:
  • Degree in operations management, logistics, industrial engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (1 to 3 years) and training in operations management, logistics, or industrial engineering.
  • Knowledge of OHS practices and WHMIS (an asset).
  • Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.) and familiarity with ERP or production software.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written)
  • Ability to manage priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Compliance with standards and ability to work with little supervision.
  • Valid driver's license required (weekly travel, vehicle provided).
  • Rigorous, reliable person with an excellent sense of responsibility and organization.
  • Good judgment, autonomy, initiative, and a positive attitude are essential.
  • Forklift license: an asset.
