Job overview:The Operations Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the smooth running of production activities. He/she supports the manufacturing teams by coordinating operations, optimizing processes, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. He/she acts as a point of contact between production, logistics, maintenance, and management to maximize the overall efficiency and performance of the plant.
Responsibilities:- Coordinate daily plant operations and optimize productivity with field teams.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend corrective actions.
- Manage raw material inventory with the logistics team (adjustments, research, etc.).
- Support SAP operations (PO creation) and cover for the team during vacations.
- Actively participate in the OHS committee, audits, accident investigations, and OHS training.
- Coordinate OHS training and procedures for production employees.
- Promote communication between production, maintenance, logistics, and administration.
- Support the integration of new employees and follow up on action plans.
- Serve as backup production supervisor during scheduled absences to maintain smooth operations.
- Degree in operations management, logistics, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment (1 to 3 years) and training in operations management, logistics, or industrial engineering.
- Knowledge of OHS practices and WHMIS (an asset).
- Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.) and familiarity with ERP or production software.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written)
- Ability to manage priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Compliance with standards and ability to work with little supervision.
- Valid driver's license required (weekly travel, vehicle provided).
- Rigorous, reliable person with an excellent sense of responsibility and organization.
- Good judgment, autonomy, initiative, and a positive attitude are essential.
- Forklift license: an asset.
