About the RoleThe ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in both software and hardware systems, coupled with hands‑on experience in operating production equipment and maintaining manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and quality of production systems while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to drive efficiency and continuous improvement. Your technical versatility will play a vital role in maintaining equipment performance, troubleshooting issues, and supporting process optimization to meet production targets.
Key Responsibilities- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot production equipment and manufacturing systems to ensure smooth operations.
- Read and interpret technical documentation including equipment manuals, process specifications, and system diagrams.
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and quality checks to ensure equipment performance and product quality standards.
- Monitor production parameters, log data, and adjust system settings as needed.
- Diagnose and resolve both hardware malfunctions and software‑related issues in production equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of production runs, equipment status, and maintenance activities.
- Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables; recommend replacements or improvements as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Willingness to travel between multiple facilities (Scarborough and Markham) as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in automation systems, electrical troubleshooting, or related roles.
- Experience with panel wiring and electrical connections; familiarity with wiring standards and practices.
- Experience in Siemens and/or Mitsubishi programming with Ladder logic.
- Basic knowledge of sensors (e.g., proximity, photoelectric, capacitive) and their applications in automation systems.
- Basic understanding of electrical control systems, PLC programming, and HMI interfaces.
- Proficient in reading electrical schematics and system blueprints.
- Basic knowledge of both regular and power tools. (Drills, metal saw, allen keys, drivers, wrenches, etc.)
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with safety standards and protocols in an industrial environment.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment occasionally and work in industrial conditions.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
