Senior Engineering Manager - Banking

Overview  Senior Engineering Manager - Banking  role focuses on building reliable banking core systems to ensure smooth operation for customers, regulators, and business partners.
Responsibilities   Lead a team of 4 to 8 senior engineers to deliver high-availability banking services.
Ensure your team can predictably deliver results against company objectives.
Create a fulfilling work environment for your team.
Coach the team to a high level of technical excellence and stability.
Give feedback to engineers of all skill levels with confidence and competence.
Onboard new engineering hires.
Align engineering work with Mercury values.
Work alongside other product experts to pick the highest-impact projects.
Collaborate with other teams when work overlaps to achieve a cohesive product and simpler, more maintainable underlying technical implementation.
Balance building new things with maintaining existing systems.

Qualifications   Demonstrated ability to lead a technical team.
Experience integrating with bank core and lending systems.
Strong individual engineering skill set. You will go through the same interview process as individual contributors, with additional interviews for manager skills.
Familiarity with Mercury’s tech stack (specifically Haskell and Type Script), or interest in learning it.
Compensation & Benefits  The total rewards package at Mercury includes base salary, equity, and benefits. Salary ranges are competitive within the SaaS and fintech industry and are updated regularly using reliable compensation survey data. New hire offers are based on experience, location, and internal pay equity relative to peers.
US employees: $239,
Canadian employees: CAD $225,
