Location: North York, Downsview Region, ON

Shift: Night Shift (11PM to 7AM)

Summary

We are seeking a hands‑on and technically skilled Injection Molding Setup Technician to support injection moulding operations during the night shift. The ideal candidate will have experience with mould changes, machine setup, process adjustments, and basic troubleshooting in a plastics manufacturing environment. This role focuses mainly on machine setup and maintaining smooth production operations.

Responsibilities
  • Install, set up, and adjust injection moulds and auxiliary equipment according to production requirements and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform mould changes on injection moulding machines ranging from 100–1000 tons.
  • Safely hang and remove moulds using an overhead crane.
  • Connect and verify water lines, hot runners, thermolators, and core pull systems.
  • Set machine parameters and assist in process adjustments to maintain product quality.
  • Start up machines and monitor production output and quality.
  • Perform first‑piece inspections and report quality concerns to the appropriate team.
  • Change nozzle tips and assist with workstation setup as needed.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting during production runs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support production operations during the night shift and communicate issues to the supervisor or manager when required.
Must‑Have Requirements
  • Minimum 3–4 years of hands‑on experience as an Injection Molding Setup Technician in a plastics manufacturing environment.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of injection moulding processes and machine parameter adjustments.
  • Experience working with materials such as Nylon, PP, ABS, PC, and PE.
  • Experience connecting and operating auxiliary equipment including thermolators, hot runners, and core pull systems.
  • Experience working with injection moulding machines ranging from 100–1000 tons.
  • Ability to safely operate overhead cranes for mould handling.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills in injection moulding operations.
  • Good English communication skills (spoken and written).
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.
  • Counterbalance Propane certification is considered an asset.
