Position Summary

Working under the supervision of the Production and Inventory Manager, the Production and Inventory Lead supports manufacturing operations by managing production schedules, monitoring inventory, maintaining system data accuracy, and driving process improvements. The role works cross-functionally with Operations to ensure timely order fulfillment, data integrity, and operational efficiency.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain and regularly update escalation list
  • Prepare and update daily operational reports, including late order tracking and reliability tracker
  • Review new item entries and ensure accuracy
  • Support assembly scheduling activities, including finite scheduling or providing backup coverage as required
  • Monitor and maintain on time delivery dashboards
  • Conduct routine audits to identify system or order issues and initiate corrective actions
  • Provide support to Production Planners, Inventory Planners, and Scheduling by investigating errors, documenting resolutions, and covering during absences
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency such as responding to PPS reports from Production
  • Investigate and support resolution of significant inventory variances in collaboration with Inventory Analysts
  • Participate in new system implementations and integration projects
  • Coordinate and manage vacation coverage to ensure continuity of operations
  • Monitor inventory on hold and coordinate the disposition of scrap parts from cancelled orders
  • Identify and address inventory with no active demand, particularly for make-to-order manufacturing items
  • Providing back‑up support to management, including attending meetings and assisting with level‑loading
  • Follow all Miller Knoll safety policies and protocols
  • Maintain a clean, safe, working environment according to 5s principles and department safety guidelines
  • Maintain and follow ISO standard operating procedures
  • Participate in and contribute to the continuous improvement process
  • Additional responsibilities as requested by Management to achieve business objectives
Minimum Qualifications
  • Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain is an asset
  • Minimum 2-5 years of production planning, inventory, supply chain experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
  • Experience with ERP systems or supply‑chain software is required
  • Must have intermediate or greater Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong professional and work ethics, self‑motivated, accountable and results oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • Must be proficient in English (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate a high attention to detail
Physical Work Environment
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without accommodations
  • Must be able to complete work tasks that require strong manual dexterity
  • Must be able to perform duties while wearing all necessary Personal Protective Equipment as determined by Miller Knoll's Health and Safety department
  • Must be able to perform in an environment with high levels of exposure to manufacturing noise, dust and heat

  • Must be able to train backup operator to set up all equipment in area

Benefits

Compensation range for this role is $80,000.00 - $95,000.00.
