About the Role:

The Manufacturing Technician‑CNC Optics Manufacturing position is responsible for generating, polishing, and turning of optical components (precision lenses) using CNC optics and diamond‑turning machines with 2, 3, 4, and NC axes equipment.
Primary Responsibilities   Analyze and interpret complex mechanical and optical schematics, ensuring precise execution of assembly, integration and testing procedures.
Execute grinding, polishing, edging, turning and troubleshooting of complex optical components following all established manufacturing processes and procedures in alignment with AS9100 standards.
Diagnose and troubleshoot spherical and aspheric optical components, including visible and IR optics, achieving surface form requirements (PV, RMS, AST) and inspecting components to drawing requirements.
Investigate and resolve faults by collaborating with senior technicians and engineers, contributing to continuous product development and process improvement.
Effectively manage multiple priorities, manufacturing testing, measuring and troubleshooting tasks to meet critical project timelines and production goals.
Engage in cross‑functional collaboration, working closely with operation engineers, production teams and management to tackle complex technical challenges and drive innovative solutions.
Ensure meticulous documentation, maintaining detailed records of maintenance, test results, troubleshooting efforts and implemented solutions.
Plan and monitor manufacturing machines and tools.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying inefficiencies in processes, recommending enhancements and implementing best practices to optimise performance and workflow efficiency.
Required Capabilities   Solid ability to read and interpret optical and mechanical drawings and test procedures.
Experience in assembling, configuring, and testing complex opto‑mechanical or electro‑mechanical systems.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostics skills – identifying, analysing and resolving optical and mechanical issues.
Strong collaboration and communication: interpersonal skills to work effectively with engineers, production teams and management.
Good English communication skills in both written and verbal that translate into working in a team‑based environment.
Continuous improvement and safety mindset: abilities to think critically, identify inefficiencies in processes, suggest improvements and be open‑minded to change.
High standards of quality with attention to detail, capable of learning and taking on new tasks with an increasing level of responsibility.
