We are seeking an Assistant Production Manager to lead afternoon shift operations in a fast‑paced, high‑growth food manufacturing environment. The role provides direct leadership over a team of 50+ employees and requires a confident, hands‑on leader who can exercise judgment, operate independently, and provide steady oversight on the production floor.
Working closely with the Production Manager, you will take full ownership of shift performance, drive results, support Supervisors, and ensure all production activities meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards. You’ll act as the primary escalation point during your shift, making sound, timely decisions and ensuring operational continuity, including after‑hours support when needed.
The hours are Monday to Friday from 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm.
Key Responsibilities- Support and oversee production activities across shifts
- Drive performance against KPIs, productivity, and cost targets
- Lead, coach, and support Production Leads and teams
- Act as escalation point for production issues and ensure timely resolution
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, safety, and regulatory standards
- Partner with QA on food safety, audits, and corrective actions
- Analyze production data and lead continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain teams
- 5+ years in food manufacturing; 2–3 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, WHMIS, and Lean principles
- ERP experience and post‑secondary education are assets
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
