CNC Programmer Role and Responsibilities
- Set up, program, and operate CNC equipment to manufacture precision components to tight tolerances.
- Perform in-process and final inspections using various measurement tools to ensure parts meet required specifications.
- Monitor machine performance, complete production documentation, and perform basic maintenance including tool changes as needed.
- Post-secondary education in manufacturing, machining, or a related field.
- Several years of experience with CNC programming, setup, and operation in a precision machining setting.
- Experience working with multi-axis CNC equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and machining requirements.
- Familiarity with CNC programming (G-code/M-code) and CAM software.
- Programming experience including Mastercam, G codes, M codes required.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working with a range of materials, including metals and engineered materials.
- Ability to maintain tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
- Comfortable using a variety of inspection and measurement tools.
