Brockport Home Systems Ltd. is seeking a strategic and experienced Production Supervisor (Day Shift) to join our team in Toronto.

Reporting to the VP of Manufacturing, the Production Supervisor is responsible for leading the day‑to‑day operations of the production department to ensure production schedules, quality standards, safety requirements, and operational objectives are achieved. This role provides leadership, coaching, and direction to production employees while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, coach, and develop production employees to achieve productivity, quality, and safety objectives.
  • Execute daily production schedules to meet customer delivery commitments while maximizing labour and equipment efficiency.
  • Monitor production performance and implement corrective actions to address quality, productivity, and operational issues.
  • Promote and maintain a safe workplace by ensuring compliance with company policies, health and safety legislation, and safe work procedures.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate employees while providing ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management.
  • Partner with Production Planning, Maintenance, Quality, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Design teams to resolve production issues and ensure efficient workflow.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate production records, reports, and operational metrics.
  • Review and approve employee time records and attendance.
  • Manage employee relations matters, including attendance, performance, discipline, and conflict resolution, in accordance with company policies and the collective agreement.
  • Participate in investigations relating to safety, quality, and operational incidents, implementing corrective actions where required.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading employees in a unionised manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
  • Working knowledge of Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA), Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), and labour relations principles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and production documentation.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in automated manufacturing or the wood products/building components industry.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement training.
  • Experience with production planning and capacity management.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting experience.
  • Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) certification or health and safety leadership training.
Physical Requirements:

This role is based primarily at Brockport Home Systems’ manufacturing facility in Etobicoke, Ontario. The position involves working in a manufacturing environment includes:
