Grade 2 – $18.75/hour

Position OverviewProduction Floaters help meet fluctuating production demands by working in any of our operational areas—gluing, sewing, assembly, upholstery, webbing, cutting, or other tasks—across our two facilities. This entry‑level role is suited to dedicated, dependable team players with an interest in learning multiple skills.
Primary Responsibilities- Support the timely production of quality products by performing assigned tasks as needed.
- Adapt positively when assigned to a different team, role, or workstation.
- Follow production and service order instructions, including the protected use of required tools.
- Assemble parts and fittings into sub‑assemblies using air, electric, and hand tools.
- Measure and mark parts accurately to support proper fit and product quality.
- Adjust, repair, and rework parts or assemblies to ensure proper operation.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship and complete quality checks on assembled parts.
- Report non‑conforming or unacceptable materials, components, or quality concerns.
- Keep equipment and work areas clean and organized, reporting issues to the Cell Leader or Supervisor.
- Follow company and OSHA safety requirements, work safely, use required personal protective equipment, and support good housekeeping and Keilhauer’s core values.
- Previous experience in sewing, upholstery, manufacturing, assembly, or a similar production environment is an asset.
- Ability to follow work instructions, production standards, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work.
- Good hand‑eye coordination and the ability to safely use tools, equipment, and materials required for the role.
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet daily production requirements.
- Reliable, safety‑minded, and able to maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Positive team player with the ability to work collaboratively within and across production cells.
- Communication: read and write English; speak English or communicate in ASL; work well with others and communicate respectfully.
- Mobility: perform physical activities such as reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, stretching, lifting; stand for prolonged periods on a cement floor; maneuver across a cement floor to access various areas; may be required at either Keilhauer location and to help in other areas.
- Manual Dexterity & Coordination: lift, grip and pull up to 30 pounds; manipulate production pieces and hand tools; may use foot for treadle.
- Vision: close vision, color vision, depth perception; visually inspect and evaluate quality of work.
- Cognitive Ability: read and interpret work guidelines, safety instructions and operating manuals; have general knowledge of hand and air tools; learn new skills; work on multiple tasks in a single day; use common sense and carry out written and/or oral instructions.
