Shipping & Receiving Supervisor

$27.00 to $29.00 per hour
Our client is a well-established food manufacturing company seeking a hands‑on Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to oversee inbound and outbound logistics, inventory control, and warehouse operations. This role is ideal for an organized and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and damage
- Record and maintain receiving and inventory information within the company's inventory management system
- Label, organize, and store raw materials, packaging, and supplies appropriately
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Production teams regarding incoming materials
- Investigate and report shortages, discrepancies, or damaged goods
- Prepare customer orders for shipment according to specifications and timelines
- Pick, pack, label, and stage products for shipping
- Complete shipping documentation, bills of lading, and carrier paperwork
- Coordinate pickups and deliveries with transportation providers
- Verify product lot codes and maintain accurate traceability records
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and physical inventory activities
- Ensure proper stock rotation using FIFO principles
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
- Support additional warehouse and production activities as required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a food manufacturing or production environment
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, inventory control, or warehouse operations
- Valid forklift certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Good mathematical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Reliable, dependable, and able to work effectively in a team environment
- Fast‑paced manufacturing environment with exposure to food ingredients and spice-related odors
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs (25 kg)
- Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements
