This is a full‑time, on‑site Tool and Die Maker role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. The Tool and Die Maker will build, repair, and maintain tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in braking component manufacturing, ensuring that equipment meets specifications and production targets. Daily responsibilities include interpreting technical drawings, setting up and operating machining equipment (such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machines), and performing precision measurements and inspections.
The role also involves troubleshooting tooling issues on the production floor, performing preventive maintenance, and collaborating with engineering and production teams to improve part quality and process efficiency. The Tool and Die Maker will follow all safety standards and quality procedures while documenting work performed and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications, and apply them to tool and die fabrication.
- Hands‑on experience with machining processes, including operation of manual and CNC equipment, as well as use of precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
- Strong skills in tool and die construction, repair, and maintenance, including troubleshooting and resolving tooling‑related production issues.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes relevant to metalworking and automotive components, such as stamping, forming, and material properties.
- Commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, and accurate documentation of work, with attention to detail in all tasks.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, maintenance, and production teams, and to communicate clearly about technical issues and solutions.
- Apprenticeship or certification as a Tool and Die Maker, or equivalent technical training; experience in automotive or industrial manufacturing is an asset.
- Flexibility to work on‑site in the Greater Toronto Area and adapt to changing production priorities and deadlines.
