Role Description

The Painter is a full-time, on-site position based in Toronto, ON. The Painter is responsible for preparing aircraft components and related parts for painting by cleaning, masking, sanding, and priming surfaces according to company and industry standards. Day-to-day tasks include applying coatings and finishes using brush, roller, and spray painting techniques, mixing and matching paint to specifications, and ensuring proper curing and quality of the final finish.

The role involves reading work orders and technical instructions, maintaining painting equipment and work areas, and adhering to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. The Painter collaborates with technicians and supervisors to meet production schedules and support overall maintenance and refurbishment projects.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess skills in paint handling and general painting for industrial or aviation environments.
  • Candidates should possess skills in painting and decorating to achieve precise, high-quality finishes on complex surfaces.
  • Candidates should possess skills in coatings application, including primers, protective coatings, and specialty finishes.
  • Candidates should possess skills in spray painting techniques, including surface preparation and equipment operation.
  • Experience in aviation, automotive, or industrial painting is an asset.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions, work orders, and safety procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and commitment to quality and safety.
  • Willingness to work on-site in a shop environment, with the ability to lift and move parts as required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant trade training or certification is an advantage.
