Job Purpose

At Unilever, we're looking for a Shift Lead (Production Supervisor) to help drive world-class performance at our Rexdale Dressings Facility, home to iconic food brands enjoyed by millions every day. In this role, you will lead and inspire frontline teams while ensuring excellence in safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance.

- Lead Operations Excellence Provide leadership and direction for manufacturing operations during your assigned shift, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. Drive performance across key metrics including safety, quality, productivity, service, and cost. Coordinate staffing, scheduling, labor planning, and shift coverage to meet production requirements. Serve as the key operational leader during off-shift hours, ensuring timely issue resolution and effective decision-making.
- Build a Strong Safety Culture Champion a culture where safety comes first. Ensure compliance with all regulatory, company, and plant safety requirements. Provide coaching, training, and support to ensure employees understand and follow safe work practices.
- Develop and Lead People Lead, coach, and develop hourly production employees to achieve individual and team success. Facilitate training programs including Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), Quality, WCM, and other operational initiatives. Communicate site goals, business priorities, and performance expectations clearly and consistently. Foster an inclusive, engaged, and accountable work environment.
- Drive Continuous Improvement Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, efficiency gains, waste reduction, and yield improvements. Support the achievement of plant performance targets and strategic business objectives. Champion World Class Manufacturing principles and ensure sustainable results from improvement projects.
- Support Quality & Food Safety Excellence Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000, and all food safety requirements. Support internal and external audits and implement corrective actions as required. Drive adherence to quality standards to consistently deliver products that consumers trust.
- Partner with Union Leadership Build and maintain positive union-management relationships. Administer the Collective Agreement fairly and consistently while proactively resolving workplace issues.
- Manage Business Performance Monitor and manage fixed and variable operating costs. Optimize labor utilization and production resources to maximize operational efficiency. Support site security, workforce planning, and overall operational readiness.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated success leading teams in a fast-paced production setting.
- Experience building and sustaining a strong safety culture.
- Experience in food, beverage, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing (WCM), Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Experience with high-speed packaging or processing operations.
- Working knowledge of GMP, HACCP and food safety systems.
- Experience operating in a unionized environment.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate teams.
Pay:
