Reporting to the Operations Work Team Leader, the ideal candidate would be responsible for assisting the Production control team group in optimizing daily work orders and supporting the Product Development team with manufacturing routes. The Position is responsible for ensuring consistent on-time creation of products that meet all quality standards, satisfies customers, while completing all activities with high regard for the safety of others and oneself.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Responsible for optimizing production schedules through Cut Rite Program optimization
- Assist in the daily flow of information to provide timely communication to the production group with BOM information issues
- Must be capable of using engineering drawings to ensure parts are produced to specifications
- Populate routing data into the database system
- Extract and analyzing data from the ERP System
- Apply database modifications and enhancements to existing reports/systems
- Create routing steps to give proper credit and cost to products
- Run JDE/Excel macros to upload routes, notes and supplemental data to parts
- Work on PRDs to fix data related production issues.
- Well organized and able to appropriately prioritize tasks
- Follow Miller Knoll disposal procedures for proper disposal of items
- Follow shop floor controls
- Ensure all production, safety and quality related issues are communicated to the Facilitator or Work Team Leader
- Follow all Miller Knoll safety policies and protocols
- Maintain a clean, safe, working environment according to 5s principles and department safety guidelines
- Maintain and follow the ISO standard operating procedures
- Participate in and contribute to the continuous improvement process
- Additional responsibilities as requested by Management to achieve business objectives.
- Education/Experience Degree in a related field:
Engineering, Computer Science, Supply chain - Experience with Cut Rite Software and the creation of new access database is an asset
- Minimum 2 - 5 years of manufacturing experience in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of SDLC software and SQL language (to analyze data and create queries)
- Familiarity with networking systems (for troubleshooting)
- Familiarity with wood working equipment

Skills and Abilities
Manufacturing process knowledge - Mechanically Inclined
- Able to read engineering drawings
- Wood optimization and nesting software experience is an asset
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and strong organization skills with an aptitude for working with numbers and spreadsheets
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, SQL.
- Excellent knowledge of ERP system
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to always maintain a professional approach
- Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, handle multiple tasks in a variety of areas and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to consistently demonstrate a high attention to detail
- Computer proficiency with the ability to manipulate and save files
- Aptitude in Mathematics including addition, multiplication and subtraction
