Open Role Salary: $55,000 - $60,000 SMT Programmer / Techn ician

Overview

Seeking an SMT Programmer/Technician to support the programming, setup, troubleshooting, and optimization of SMT production equipment in an electronics manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, maintain, and update SMT machine programs for PCB assemblies.
  • Support SMT equipment setup, operation, troubleshooting, and changeovers.
  • Program and support SPI, AOI, solder paste printers, and reflow ovens
    .
  • Perform first article verification and support new product introduction.
  • Optimize equipment performance, OEE, utilization, and reflow profiles.
  • Perform basic equipment and feeder maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Analyze defect and yield data and support root cause/corrective actions.
  • Work with Engineering and Quality teams to improve SMT processes and yields.
  • Support DFM reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Train and provide technical support to production operators.
Qualifications
  • 2-3+ years of SMT machine programming experience
    .
  • Hands‑on experience with SMT equipment and production troubleshooting.
  • Experience with CAD/Gerber data, BOMs, component specifications, and machine programming.
  • Strong understanding of electronic assembly processes.
  • Knowledge of IPC‑A‑610 and J‑STD‑001
    .
  • Experience with preventative maintenance and equipment debugging is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Lean/continuous improvement and quality systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Technical diploma/degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred.
Work Environment
  • Primarily on-site, Monday-Friday daytime schedule.
  • GTA-based manufacturing environment.
