The Director of Operations is responsible for overall optimization of the manufacturing operation. The role will include setting and meeting targets for production throughput, quality, efficiency and safety. The Director of Operations will deliver strategies for future production growth, inventory management and supply chain optimization.
The role will also champion and hold the Operation organization responsible to all operating procedures and standardized work instructions. Functions reporting to the role include manufacturing, planning & scheduling, and logistics. This position is responsible for all aspects of cost, quality, and schedule of the operations, as well as the overall day to day management of direct reports to exceed customers expectation.
DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain safety, quality and regulation compliance relating to the production facility.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to support the company’s growth and ensure the effective use of resources.
- Drive the long-range strategic planning process for manufacturing operations by overseeing and managing all manufacturing operations, including scheduling and forecasting, production control, inventory control, and quality.
- Plan and forecast future requirements such as new machinery, work centres, regulation requirements, plant layouts and workforce requirements.
- Lead adoption of new processes or products into manufacturing and product readiness for commercial launch with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, customers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
- Develop and mentor the operations leadership team to building a strong, high-performance organization.
- Maintain an environment of corrective action and quality processes.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 and AS13000 regulations and standards within the manufacturing and operations organization.
- Create and deliver a culture of quality, safety, standardization, throughput, adherence to process & timelines and effective results focusing on continuous improvement across cross-functional levels of manufacturing.

- Reducing NCR and scrap month after month
- Scrap below 1%
- Increase productivity and Efficiency month after month according to company approved budget
- Meet financials targets for the Budget approved by the company
- Bachelor degree in or related to Engineering, Industrial Management, or Process Engineering.
- 10+ years of manufacturing leadership
- 5+ years of Lean and Continuous Improvement experience
- 10 years’ experience in operations management in an aerospace or tier 1 manufacturing company
- Demonstrated success in leading and managing high-performance teams
- Strong business acumen with experience in strategic planning and financial management.
- Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to identify and mitigate operational risks.
- Knowledge of industry principles such as lean manufacturing and six sigma methodologies
- Expertise in regulatory requirements and industry standards for aerospace manufacturing
