The Role

We’re looking for a strategic and hands‑on Director of Paid Media to lead our Media team during a 12‑month maternity leave coverage. In this role, you’ll be responsible for driving paid media strategy and performance across the organization while directly managing our internal team and contractors. You’ll ensure that our paid media efforts continue to deliver strong results, evolve with industry trends, and scale effectively as we grow.

You’ll play a key role in cross‑functional collaboration with Sales, Strategy, Client Success, and Product—contributing directly to client results, internal innovation, and company revenue goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities for new paid media offerings tailored to the creator economy, helping #paid stay ahead of the curve.
  • Work closely with Sales, Strategy, and Client Success to ensure media efforts align with client needs and business goals.
  • Partner with Product to identify tooling and automation opportunities that streamline campaign execution and media buying operations.
  • Design and implement performance‑based incentives that motivate team members and support strategic business outcomes.
  • Stay on top of platform updates and industry shifts, bringing fresh thinking and leadership to the way we buy media at #paid.
  • Manage and support a team of media buyers, fostering a high‑performance culture and implementing processes that enhance efficiency and scale.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the Media team, including resource planning, internal reporting, and workflow improvements.
  • Own and optimize paid media campaigns across major platforms, ensuring effective creator ad placements and consistent performance.
  • Provide strategic input and hands‑on support for live campaigns to ensure we’re delivering strong performance for clients.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful
  • Lead a team of full‑time employees and contractors, ensuring strong performance, high engagement, and alignment to team goals.
  • Design and implement scalable media strategies that drive strong results in the creator economy.
  • Build and streamline internal processes that enhance media operations and campaign execution.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Strategy, and Client Success teams to ensure campaigns meet client goals.
  • Partner with the Product team to identify and build tools that increase media team efficiency.
  • Provide mentorship and support to the Media team while creating performance incentives that drive motivation and innovation.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and contribute to #paid’s internal and external thought leadership.
  • Manage and optimize paid social campaigns hands‑on across Meta, Tik Tok, Snapchat, and more.
About You
  • 7–10+ years of experience in paid media, digital marketing, or creator marketing.
  • Proven leadership experience managing full‑time employees and leading a high‑performing team.
  • Direct, hands‑on experience running paid campaigns across Meta, Tik Tok, Snapchat, and other social platforms.
  • Deep understanding of auction dynamics, bidding strategies, creative testing, and optimization tactics.
  • Experience managing $5M+ in annual media spend (preferred).
  • Strong background in media strategy, amplification regulations, and paid media innovation.
  • Experience managing contractors and collaborating with cross‑functional leadership.
  • Comfortable navigating fast‑paced, high‑growth environments.
