Overview

The Senior Digital Planner/Buyer is responsible for both the strategic planning and tactical buying of digital media(OLV, YT, CTV, Audio, Social, Display). This role requires a strong balance of analytical skills, negotiation expertise, and strategic thinking to ensure media plans align with brand objectives while delivering cost-effective results. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the digital media landscape, including industry trends, audience insights, and vendor relationships, and will be able to execute campaigns effectively while ensuring financial accuracy and performance tracking.

This role is ideal for a media professional who thrives in both strategic planning and buying, ensuring campaigns are well-planned, efficiently bought, and effectively measured for success.

Responsibilities
  • Develop strategic media plans that align with client objectives and industry insights.
  • Gather and analyze marketing, industry, and consumer insights to inform media recommendations.
  • Negotiate with media vendors to secure cost-effective placements while ensuring quality delivery of media objectives.
  • Manage contracts, insertion orders, and any revisions in collaboration with media partners.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop budget allocations across media channels.
  • Execute and manage media buys for OLV, YT, CTV, Audio, Social, Display ensuring alignment with the media plan.
  • Input and actualize media buys while maintaining accurate records of campaign financials.
  • Develop campaign performance documents and provide reporting in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Conduct campaign optimizations and troubleshoot discrepancies to ensure seamless execution.
  • Maintain strong relationships with media suppliers and stay informed of market conditions and emerging trends.
  • Educate clients and internal teams on media landscape shifts and best practices.
  • Utilize and manage media systems, including DDS, Prisma etc.
  • Train and mentor junior team members, including Media Assistants.
  • Actively participate in internal and external meetings, providing strategic insights and recommendations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, business administration, communications, or related field preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in media planning and/or buying.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing efficient media buys.
  • Proficiency in media research and reporting resources.
  • Excellent analytical and math skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including client presentations.
  • Experience working with media systems (e.g. DDS, Prisma) and syndicated research tools (e.g. Vividata etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, meeting tight deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners.
