Job Description
As the Director of Product Marketing within our small business portfolio, you will define and lead the category strategy and positioning for our Sage 50 product across North America – our core, revenue‑driving solution trusted by hundreds of thousands of small businesses and a major contributor to the company’s revenue.
This role comes at a pivotal point as Sage 50 evolves with a continued focus on practical, solution‑driven innovation, including new cloud and embedded AI capabilities through Sage Copilot, designed to meet the changing needs of today’s SMB customers.
Reporting to the Global VP of Product Marketing for our Small Business portfolio, you will translate deep customer, market, and competitive insight into clear value propositions, segmentation, pricing and packaging strategy, and establish clear messaging and positioning frameworks aligned to the opportunity within the small business space.
Working closely with Product leadership, you will ensure that market intelligence directly informs product direction, innovation priorities, and long‑term portfolio strategy. In partnership with Growth Marketing and other go‑to‑market teams, you will enable effective activation of positioning and value propositions while maintaining primary ownership of market strategy, segmentation, and portfolio positioning.

Required: Hybrid; 3 days per week from our Toronto office (Scotia Plaza)
Qualifications- 8+ years of product marketing experience, including experience operating at a Director level with ownership of strategy, positioning, and go‑to‑market execution.
- Experience product marketing accounting, financial software, ERP, or complex B2B SaaS technology products.
- Proven experience launching cloud‑based technology products, including bringing new platforms or capabilities to market in competitive environments.
- Deep experience in core product marketing disciplines, including positioning, messaging, pricing and packaging, and product launches.
- Ability to operate at both strategic and hands‑on levels, translating market insight and product direction into clear, executable go‑to‑market plans.
- Demonstrated success working cross‑functionally with Product Management, Sales, Marketing, and Channel teams globally and regionally.
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to build relationships and influence at all levels, including executive leadership.
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills.
- Comfort presenting internally and externally – representing products, including with customers, partners, or industry audiences.
- Own category strategy:
Partner with Product Management to define the strategic direction for Sage 50 in the US and Canada, grounded in market dynamics, customer needs, and long‑term growth opportunities. - Define and drive growth strategy:
Translate market opportunity and customer insight into clear growth strategies and go‑to‑market plans that drive adoption, revenue, and market share. - Be the market and customer expert:
