Summary

The incumbent in this role is the key liaison for several cross‑functional teams and external agency partners in the planning and execution of store openings, renovations, and marquee sales events—ensuring a cohesive and impactful marketing experience across all touchpoints, both online and offline. The incumbent must have the ability to demonstrate strong collaboration, financial discipline, and a commitment to brand excellence across every consumer interaction for our Food Basics banner.

Specific

Responsibilities
  • Guide the team in executing compelling brand‑building initiatives and fully integrated 360° promotional campaigns. Ensure all activities are rooted in relevant consumer and industry insights to maximise impact and relevance.
  • Develop and review revenue‑generating programs, challenge status quo, present new programs to senior leaders and implement them.
  • Draft creative briefs for all Food Basics brand initiatives, including seasonal campaigns, ethnic marketing programs, and national‑level activations for final review by the Senior Manager.
  • Act as a subject‑matter expert for cross‑functional teams in the planning and execution of store openings and renovations. Oversee all aspects of the marketing experience—from pre‑launch media campaigns and community engagement to in‑store activation and event management—to ensure consistent brand expression and a seamless customer experience.
  • Support and ensure delivery of consumer promotions and sales events, including the continued evolution of Food Basics marquee events through the development of integrated marketing plans. Collaborate with in‑store teams and vendor partners to maximise trade participation, enhance shopper engagement, and unlock retail monetization opportunities.
  • Serve as the internal brand champion, safeguarding brand guideline integrity across all touchpoints—including in‑store elements, advertising assets, and partner promotional materials. Act as the primary point of contact for agency partners, ensuring clear direction, proper allocation of work, and delivery against quality and timing.
  • Support the Director by leading the period budget planning process for the Food Basics banner for all assigned budget lines, ensuring accurate consolidation and alignment throughout the fiscal year. Maintain adherence to financial auditing protocols and support the team in meeting compliance standards.
  • Partner closely with Marketing Support Services, Communications, Ecommerce, Loyalty and Digital teams to deliver high‑impact, integrated campaigns. Proactively share information and updates with relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.
  • Maintain regular communication with senior stakeholders to gather timely feedback and secure approvals in accordance with established action plans.
Qualifications
  • College diploma or university degree.
  • 3‑5 years brand marketing experience. Grocery retail experience would be an asset.
  • Strong influential and project‑management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build clear, influential presentations.
  • Proficient in MS Office;
    PowerPoint is required.
  • Ability to collaborate and manage several project budgets totalling over $1 M.
  • Local travel required.
