We are seeking a Content Specialist to play a key role in shaping, planning, and executing editorial‑led digital and social content across Community banners within a multi‑brand retail environment. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, supporting the Community Banner team with digital and social‑led content that is insight‑driven, platform‑appropriate, and operationally sound.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and strong editor with hands‑on experience in social and digital content within a retail or consumer‑facing environment. They are comfortable navigating complex cross‑functional workflows, managing influencer programs end‑to‑end, and evolving content practices through modern tools and AI‑enabled workflows.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic planning and executional support for Community and Banner teams, ensuring organic, editorial, and influencer‑led content aligns with brand, merchandising, and marketing priorities.
- Work in partnership with cross‑functional marketing, creative, and external agency teams on omnichannel content strategy and planning for website, social, in‑store signage, email, sponsorship, and other channels as required.
- Translate business and campaign objectives into clear, executable content plans across social, web, and owned channels.
- Support integrated planning with content strategies across marketing campaigns, evergreen, planned, and timely content.
- Lead editorial content creation across platforms including social, web, and email.
- Optimize content for performance, accessibility, platform best practices, and community engagement.
- Maintain organic social content calendars and work closely with creative and banner teams on content flow.
- Oversee end‑to‑end influencer and creator campaigns including briefing, contracting, content direction, timelines, approvals, and post‑campaign reporting.
- Partner with Banner, Legal, and agency teams to ensure content meets governance, disclosure, and brand standards.
- Map organic social media content planning and maintain social calendars.
- Track and source data insights to continually optimize digital content channels, including website and social platforms.
- Produce monthly social media reports and post‑campaign wrap reports across relevant channels.
- Support brand initiatives, campaigns, and programs with rich content and copywriting for web, social, and other relevant channels as needed.
- Bachelor’s or post‑secondary degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in social media and/or website content strategy, execution, and planning
- Relevant experience in digital content, including social, web, and digital marketing with strong understanding of data analytics, optimization, and SEO
- Proven editorial and copywriting skills across multiple channels, including POS, social, web, and email
