Ecom North is Canada’s leading DTC-focused events and membership organization. We run must-attend summits across four markets and operate two founder communities for DTC operators who take their business seriously.
We're hiring a marketer who can write sales copy that converts and actually understands the founder on the other end of it. You'll write the words that sell our membership community and events, sharpen the ads that run alongside them, and help us show up well on camera and on social media.
What You’ll Own
Copywriting
Write sales copy for landing pages, email campaigns, and our ad campaigns
Write the Ecom North newsletter where we feature founder stories, partner stories, and must-know DTC news
Write with a voice that understands our audience’s problems and how to position our products to solve those problems
Write hooks, ad copy, and CTAs for paid social
Ads & Performance
Give our ads team real feedback: what's working, what isn't, and why
Get hands‑on with ad creative and copy when needed, not just reviewing it after the fact
Help build a testing framework to find winning angles fast and kill what isn't working
Content & On-Camera
Show up on camera when needed: event recaps, founder interviews, social content
Produce short‑form content for Instagram and Linked In, repurposed from events, podcasts, and original shoots
Track what drives reach and engagement, and adjust accordingly
What We’re Looking For
Strong, clear sales copywriting across formats: landing pages, email, ads, social
Based in Toronto or within driving distance to help with our in‑person events
Good business acumen. You understand what a founder in our community needs
Comfortable looking at ad performance data and giving real feedback, not just opinions
Some experience creating content and an audience of your own, even a modest one
Comfortable being on camera. You don’t need to be a performer, just willing
Highly organized, able to manage multiple streams and deadlines at once
Nice to Have
Experience marketing events, conferences, or community memberships
A genuine interest in DTC ecommerce and the founder community
Familiarity with Meta Ads Manager and reading performance data
Experience with email platforms like Klaviyo or Mailchimp
Basic video editing skills (Cap Cut, Premiere, or similar)
AI native. We want to see what you’ve built with it, not just that you’ve used it
Who You Are
You write copy that converts, and you can explain why it worked. You understand founders, what keeps them up at night and what actually gets them to act. You’re comfortable looking at ad performance and saying what you’d change. You’ve built some kind of audience, even a small one, and you’re not afraid to be on camera when it counts. You want to be somewhere with a real audience, a strong brand, and the room to make your mark on it.
