Corporate Communications Intern
Location: Etobicoke, ON
Contract: 8‑month contract (August 2026 – May 2027)
About the OpportunityLactalis Canada’s Corporate Communications team is responsible for internal and external communications, shaping the company’s voice and reputation. In this internship you will gain hands‑on experience in employee engagement, event management, multimedia production, social media, media relations, community relations, and strategic storytelling while working cross‑functionally and building a portfolio of real‑world projects.
Responsibilities- Draft, edit and proofread communications materials, including announcements, social media posts, press releases and presentations.
- Manage a Digital Asset Management System project, organizing, tagging and categorising assets to improve searchability and access.
- Assist with employee communications by drafting content and managing internal platforms such as Viva Engage and digital screens.
- Monitor media coverage and compile media reports and briefing documents.
- Help plan and execute corporate events, town halls and employee engagement activities, including the Leadership Exchange.
- Track, create and post content on corporate social media channels, ensuring brand‑consistent messaging.
- Provide day‑to‑day administrative support to the communications team on projects and reporting.
- Currently enrolled in a Communications, Public Relations or related program.
- Strong oral, written and storytelling skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent organisational abilities and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and digital communication trends.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Canva and a willingness to learn new tools such as a DAMS system or Viva Engage.
- Collaborative, creative and proactive team player who works both independently and as part of a group.
- Professional, adaptable and able to meet deadlines.
- Base salary: $21.00 – $22.50+ per hour.
- 8% vacation pay.
