As a member of the Donor Experience & Brand Communications team, the Senior Philanthropy Writer is a strategic partner who develops compelling donor communications that inspire philanthropy and demonstrate the impact of giving at Sinai Health.

Working in close partnership with fundraisers, physicians, researchers and clinical leaders, the Senior Philanthropy Writer leads the development of highly customized proposals, stewardship reports, donor communications and fundraising materials that translate complex medical and operational concepts into engaging, inspiring narratives.

Serving as the communications lead for an assigned portfolio of clinical and research priorities, this role develops deep subject matter expertise, collaborates closely with fundraisers on communications strategy, identifies storytelling opportunities and helps shape donor engagement throughout the cultivation and stewardship journey.

Beyond supporting major gift fundraising, the Senior Philanthropy Writer contributes to the Foundations broader content strategy by developing donor, hospital leadership and research stories and by leading the editorial strategy for a quarterly donor newsletter aligned with their portfolio.

• Serving as communications lead for an assigned portfolio of clinical and research priorities, developing deep subject matter expertise and becoming a trusted advisor to fundraising colleagues
• Partnering with fundraisers to develop communications strategies that support donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship
• Facilitating planning meetings, gathering and synthesizing input from diverse contributors and developing strategies that strengthen donor engagement and support fundraising objectives
• Building collaborative relationships with Sinai Health staff and leadership and Foundation colleagues to identify emerging priorities and compelling stories.
• Creating customized proposals, impact reports, donor updates, cultivation materials, presentations, gift agreements and other strategic donor communications using InDesign, Word or Power Point
• Translating highly complex medical, scientific and organizational information into clear, emotionally compelling narratives tailored to donor interests, history and tone
• Advising stakeholders on messaging, narrative structure, tone and communication approaches that align donor priorities with Foundation objectives
