Canada Marketing Co-Op (Communications) - Fall 2026 at Fan Duel About  the role

As a vital member of the Canadian marketing team at Fan Duel, you will play a key role in enhancing the visibility and growth of Fan Duel Sports book and Casino, particularly in Ontario and Alberta. This position focuses on public relations and will require you to assist in crafting both internal and external communications. You will collaborate closely with various departments within the marketing team, including media, brand, content, and growth, as well as important stakeholders from business operations, product, and analytics.

This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment while contributing to the success of a leading mobile gaming company.

What you'll do
  • Collaborate with the communications team to develop effective messaging and public relations strategies that align with Fan Duel's marketing objectives.
  • Assist in creating internal communications materials, such as presentations for company town halls and executive messaging.
  • Conduct research on industry trends and competitor activities, helping to inform marketing strategies and communications efforts.
  • Support the planning and organization of office events that foster a strong company culture and enhance employee engagement.
  • Prepare marketing materials for both internal and external meetings, ensuring clarity and professionalism in all communications.
  • Help coordinate marketing team meetings and streamline operations to enhance team efficiency.
  • Offer support to various teams within the marketing department, including media, content, and brand, as needed.
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage related to Fan Duel, providing insights that can help shape future communications strategies.
  • Assist in drafting press releases and other public-facing content to promote Fan Duel's offerings and initiatives.
  • Engage with team members to gather feedback and input on communications materials, ensuring alignment with overall marketing goals.
Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a degree in marketing, business, communications, sports management, or political science, with a strong academic record.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of adapting writing styles to suit different audiences and purposes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, along with familiarity with other analytical tools to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges within a dynamic team environment.
  • Experience in public relations, marketing, or communications through coursework, internships, or relevant projects is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A passion for sports and gaming, with an understanding of the industry landscape and trends.
Nice to have
  • Previous internship experience in marketing, communications, or public relations, preferably in the sports or gaming sectors.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing strategies, including content creation and audience engagement.
  • Basic understanding of graphic design tools or experience with visual content creation to enhance marketing materials.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian sports betting landscape and regulations, particularly in Ontario and Alberta.
