**** Position Purpose summary:
** The Volunteer Coordinator provides support to the Manager of Volunteers, coordinating delivery of all required volunteer administrative support services for The Salvation Army (TSA) Ontario Distribution Centre (ODC) 'Behind the Shield' Volunteer Program and as an assist to the Manager of Volunteers other duties where needed. They perform daily tasks related to volunteer administration operations and responds to volunteer inquiries via phone and email and provides a welcoming atmosphere for volunteers entering ODC.
** ACCOUNTABILITIES:
*** Triage volunteer scenarios, specifically pre-screening processes for new volunteers, ensuring alignment with volunteer registration acceptance criteria.
* Ensure all volunteer warehouse supplies inventory levels are maintained, and re-orders are placed in a timely manner to outages.
* Ensure effective and accurate management of inbound and outbound emails received through the ODC volunteer email account etc.
* Assist Manager, Volunteers and Durable Goods with the maintaining accurate records of group volunteer opportunity planning where needed.
* Manage administration of the volunteer shifts in the MyImpact volunteer platform with case-by-case adjustments for corporate team requests.
* Assist Manager, Volunteers and Durable Goods with yearly strategic volunteer plans and Volunteer Appreciation event.
* Provide onboarding to new volunteers; ensures volunteers receive, complete, and return required forms in a timely manner.
* Maintain filing systems for volunteer documentation.
* Provide orientation of the ODC Warehouse Health and Safety measures to volunteers and provide specific sorting activity orientation.
* Provide documentation of completed volunteer hours to volunteers, upon request.
* Seek continually to improve the Volunteer program, processes and policies, and volunteer activities and facilitation documentation, as needed.
* Ensure ODC volunteer standards and policies are upheld.
* Responsible for reporting any volunteer problems per policies and procedures.
** Volunteer Warehouse Operations:
*** In consultation with the Manager, Volunteers and Durable Goods prepares Volunteer Rooms with snacks, cleanliness, aprons and glove supplies, volunteer orientation documentation.
* Maintain a clean and organized environment for volunteers in the workplace, such as the volunteer rooms and production areas where volunteers perform activities.
* Ensure effective and accurate management of volunteers.
* Facilitate Volunteer Sorting and Bagging Activities and TSA ODC Durable Goods order fulfillment with the volunteers.
* Ensure the smooth operation of the ODC volunteer functions.
* Generate daily volunteer outbound reports for both Inventory Management and Manager of Volunteers as required for groups.
