Join our passionate team and help us to achieve great things in our community! The Newcomer Youth Program Assistant supports the delivery of Newcomer Youth Leadership Development programs by assisting with program operations, participant engagement, and volunteer administration activities. Working closely with Newcomer Youth Advisors and program staff, the role contributes to a positive and inclusive experience for newcomer youth through coordination, outreach, and administrative support.

The position helps support effective program delivery and community engagement across multiple program locations.

• Coordinate and support the delivery of Newcomer Youth Leadership Development activities across multiple Greater Toronto Area locations, helping ensure consistent program implementation and youth engagement.
• Provide logistical and operational support for session delivery, including preparing materials, purchasing program snacks, coordinating room setups, and maintaining attendance records.
• Support Newcomer Youth Advisors with outreach, recruitment, and registration activities to help engage diverse youth participants from surrounding communities.
• Coordinate volunteer administration activities, including maintaining volunteer information in Better Impact and supporting mentor and volunteer recruitment and onboarding processes.
• Assist with the planning and implementation of Newcomer Youth Leadership Development events, celebrations, trainings, and recognition activities throughout the year.
• Support outreach and promotional activities by co-facilitating workshops, participating in community events, and representing the program at local engagement opportunities.

• Partial completion of a post-secondary program in a related field is preferred.
• 1 – 2 years of experience working with teens and young adults in group facilitation or supportive roles, which may include post-secondary field placements, volunteer experience, community engagement activities, or community-based employment.
• Experience supporting or delivering youth activities and programs that contribute to positive learning outcomes.
• Demonstrated knowledge of settlement services and community information resources for newcomer youth.
• Experience supporting outreach activities within the community.
• Experience working with newcomers to Canada is an asset.
• Ability to communicate in a second language is an asset.
• Well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with members, staff, and volunteers.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and at different locations as required.
