Wage Range: $ - $ per hour (start rate is non-negotiable and in accordance with collective agreement requirements)
Hours: Hours per Week
Shifts: Hour Days/Nights/Weekends
Status: Permanent Full-Time

Position Summary
The Medical Surgical Intensive care unit at TGH is a 43 bed level 3 critical care unit providing care to approximately 1000 patients annually with complex medical and surgical conditions who require advanced ventilatory and hemodynamic support.

Solid Organ TransplantationCardiopulmonary FailureAdult Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS)SepsisMulti-Organ DysfunctionPulmonary HypertensionPulmonary ThrombosisShock SyndromeDuties
Applying knowledge of nursing science, theory, skill and critical decision making in the provision of compassionate, collaborative and competent care in accordance with the UHN Professional Practice Model for Nursing and the mission and vision of nursing at the UHN.Ensuring practice is consistent with professional standards and the ethical framework as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario and the UHN policy and procedure.Demonstrating commitment to professional life long learning by participating in continuing education activities to meet the needs of the patient population served and the standards of the profession.Performing reflective practice, analyzing and evaluating nursing knowledge and modifying practice accordingly to improve the quality of nursing and patient care.Performing cross-functional and other responsibilities, as assigned and/or requested.Qualifications
Current registration with the College of Nurses of OntarioCurrent Basic Cardiac Life Support ( certificationCompletion of a recognized Critical Care Course preferredMinimum 2 to 3 years recent acute care nursing experience requiredStrong interpersonal and communication skillsExcellent organization and time management skillsExceptional decision making and problem solving skillsCritical Care Nursing experience is preferred, however sponsorship in the Michener Critical Care program is available to suitable applicantsAdvanced Cardiac Life Support ( certification preferredAdditional Information
