Branksome Hall, a leading independent International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, offers remarkable Day Camps during the summer. Join our dynamic team, on a picturesque 13-acre campus in the heart of Toronto utilizing our state-of-the-art facilities. We provide high-quality, comprehensive programming for over 1,400 campers aged 4 to 14, spanning Arts, Sports, STEM, Swim and Leadership Camps. The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a Nurse to join our Camp Team!
As a member of the Camps Senior Leadership team, the Camp Nurse will promote and support the well-being of y building caring and trusting relationships with campers ages 4-15, as well as strong partnerships with parents. The Camp Nurse is responsible for planning, assessment, intervention, evaluation and documentation of camper physical and emotional health, and supporting staff with urgent or emergency items, or consultation in relation to their responsibilities.
The Nurse also participates in camp related activities as needed in support of a vibrant and engaging summer program.
Regular working hours will be Monday to Friday between 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, extending later as required, and providing oversight for Before or After Care on a rotation with other Senior Leadership Team members.. The Camp season runs from June 22, 2026 - August 21, 2026, with additional training dates as scheduled. The Camp is closed on July 1st, 2026 and August 3rd, 2026.
Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
Review camper medical information in advance of each session to ensure appropriate planning, communication, and accommodation of medical conditions, medication, allergies or food sensitivities, or other health concerns as noted on forms;Provide assessment for illness and injury for campers and urgent/emergency care for staff;Supervise and provide nursing care for injured or unwell campers, or those that need self-regulation support;Liaise with administration and parents/guardians as needed regarding camper care, support, illness, injury, return to camp, or any relevant health concerns;Communicate with and support staff on management and/or follow up of camper health and well-being needsBe on-call for and respond to emergency situations and coordinate care with EMS;Lead first aid, emergency response, and any other related camp training as required;Complete Accident/Incident Reports for all camp related occurrences;Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation and camper health care records ensuring protection of confidential files. Participate in storage of records according to regulated guidelines;Liaise with the Camp Director as needed to ensure ongoing confidentiality of health forms and records;Assist where needed during camper arrivals and departures, camp programs, and Before and/or After Care.Mentorship of student nurse and/or trained first aider(s)Qualifications and
Experience:
Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), or Registered Nurse (RN designation);Must be a member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario with no restrictions to practice;Previous related experience as a Camp nurse, school nurse or public health experience with children is an asset;Experience working with children and adolescents is required;A demonstrated ability to provide emergency and routine care;Motivated, resourceful, self-directed;Highly organized with excellent clinical and problem-solving skills;Demonstrated leadership with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills;Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.Current Standard First Aid/CPR certification required before start of campEnhanced Police Information Check (EPIC) required for staff 18 years of age or older, and Criminal Offense Ability to work as part of a team with a wide variety of ages and demographic groupsWorking Conditions &
Physical Requirements:
Able to work in indoor and outdoor environments in all weather conditionsLifting and moving camp equipment and supplies from one location to anotherSitting and/or standing for long periods of time (3+ hours at a time, 7+ hours per day)Compensation & Benefits:
