The Clinical Care Program is currently seeking part‑time, permanent Registered Nurse to work in the Psychosis Recovery and Treatment Unit 6 (PRT
6). As a member of an inter‑professional team, you will provide client‑centered psychiatric and general nursing care. You will also be expected to ensure safety and security of the client care environment and practice in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario professional standards, Canadian Standards for Psychiatric‑Mental Health Nursing, the CAMH Practice Model of Care, CAMH Policies and Procedures, and other relevant legislation and regulations.

Using a primary nursing model, you will perform ongoing assessments, develop, implement and evaluate the inter‑professional plan of client care for clients with Schizophrenia. You will liaise with other services in the Clinical Care Program and community agencies to coordinate care for clients, work with diverse populations, contribute to program development, provide education support and supervision to students, and participate in research activities.

Responsibilities include making behavioural observations and assessments, including mental status and physical assessments, monitoring patient’s response to pharmaceutical and other care interventions; ongoing documentation and communication with other team members.

Required knowledge includes crisis intervention, psychosocial rehabilitation, severe and persistent mental illness and Schizophrenia. Strengths include performing assessments, developing, implementing and evaluating interdisciplinary client‑centered care plans. You will support and contribute to a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory requirements.

This position involves a 12‑hour shift rotation and weekend work located at the Queen Street Site.

The successful candidate must be registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario and possess a current B.C.L.S. (CPR) certificate. Preference will be given to candidates who possess or are currently pursuing a

B.Sc.N. and CNA certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, effective leadership, decision‑making, organizational and problem‑solving skills, and the ability to intervene effectively in clinical situations requiring the prevention and management of disturbed behaviour.

Psychiatric nursing experience with individuals with mental illness and/or addictions is an asset. Ability to work with clients of diverse cultural and social backgrounds is necessary. Computer literacy is required. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.

Please Note: This part‑time, permanent position is a 0.3 commitment, which may be subject to change as per the Collective Agreement. Additional hours may be available based on operational needs. These positions are part of the ONA Bargaining Unit.
