What You'll Do- Immunization and vaccination education and administration
- Health assessment and teaching on cardiac risk factors, hypertension, immunizations, and other nursing responsibilities
- Primary Care Nursing procedures such as ear syringing, dressing changes, suture/staple removal, and assisting the Physicians with basic nursing skills
- Application and education on specialty products including continuous glucose monitoring and home sleep study
- Administration of maintenance medications such as Vitamin B12, testosterone, and allergy serums
- Travel Clinic client education and vaccination
- Supporting emergency procedures and providing first responder care (Basic Life Support and CPR)
- Coordinating with other Clinic staff to ensure exceptional delivery of service
- Monitoring and facilitating the flow of patients through the Clinic
- Assist as‑needed with Child and Youth clinic and Year‑Round Care clinic
- Mentoring and assisting with the onboarding of new hire nurses
- Registered Nurse/Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
- Nursing experience in a primary care environment is essential
- Good understanding of publicly‑funded vaccine schedule and travel vaccines is an asset
- Current CPR/BCLS certification
- Superior verbal, written and electronic communication skills
- Experience in travel health, occupational health and pediatric nursing is an asset
- Proficiency in MS Teams, Outlook and Word
- Experience with Accuro Electronic Medical Record system is an asset
This is a 18 month contract with full‑time hours scheduled during business hours, 7am‑7pm, Monday to Saturday. This position will work out of the Toronto Clinic at 150 York St. The successful candidate will receive a monthly shift schedule in advance.
Position Pay RangePay is determined based on your RN registration date.
- 1 year: $73,777.60
- 2 years: $76,003.20
- 3 years: $79,851.20
- 4 years: $83,158.40
- 5 years: $87,235.20
- 6 years: $91,249.60
- 7 years: $97,926.40
- 8+ years: $
The above figures are based on an annual full‑time salary. All amounts are in CAD.
Pay will be determined based on an analysis of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications within our nursing grid. Medcan's compensation ranges are determined by a combination of required qualifications and skills, market value, and internal equity. The above range pertains solely to the base compensation and is not inclusive of additional compensation details such as perks, benefits, and potential bonuses or incentives.
