Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care by assessing residents’ physical, emotional, and cognitive conditions, monitoring vital signs, and responding to changes in health status.
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately in accordance with physician orders, care plans, and long‑term care regulations.
- Assist with daily nursing procedures such as wound care, catheter care, tube feeding, venipuncture, and infection prevention practices using proper aseptic techniques.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, registered nurses, personal support workers, and allied health professionals, to implement and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Support admissions, transfers, and discharge planning while ensuring continuity of care for residents.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, ensuring compliance with privacy and confidentiality standards.
- Promote resident safety, dignity, and comfort while supporting families through effective communication and compassionate care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, infection control measures, and compliance with long‑term care regulations and organizational policies.
- Experience working with seniors, including residents with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, chronic illnesses, and complex care needs.
- Strong knowledge of medication administration, nursing documentation, and long‑term care best practices.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems and accurate medical record keeping.
- Excellent assessment and observation skills to identify changes in resident conditions and respond appropriately.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams, residents, and families.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced long‑term care workplace while maintaining attention to detail and compassionate care.
