Position SummaryAs a member of an interprofessional team, the REGISTERED NURSE practices in accordance with relevant legislation, the UHN Professional Practice Model, and the mission and vision of nursing at the UHN to provide compassionate, collaborative and competent care while meeting the legal and ethical requirements of the profession.
The Operating Room at TWH has 17 OR Suites and 2 Block Rooms for Regional Anesthesia and provides technologically advanced, image‑guided brain and spinal surgery. Opportunities for additional education such as the Krembil Nursing Awards are available.

- Apply nursing science, theory, skill, and critical decision‑making to provide compassionate, collaborative and competent care in accordance with the UHN Professional Practice Model for Nursing.
- Ensure practice is consistent with professional standards and ethical frameworks outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario and UHN policy.
- Participate in continuing education to meet patient needs and profession standards.
- Perform reflective practice, analyze and evaluate nursing knowledge, and modify practice to improve quality of care.
- Perform cross‑functional responsibilities as assigned.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
- Flexible and able to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Meet the physical requirements of the position.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, decision‑making, organizational and time‑management skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- BScN degree or equivalent.
- Completion of a recognized certificated operating room nursing course.
- Member of the Perioperative Nurse Association.
